FIFI

Pricing

Two plans, the same product in both. There is no free tier and no advertising — the subscription is the entire business model, which is the reason nothing in the app is trying to sell you something else at six in the morning.

What a morning is worth

The annual works out at about 10¢ a morning, for every morning of the year. One subscription, everything in it: all ten characters, the briefing, and the voice notes you record.

Do I get every character?
All ten, on either plan. There is nothing held back for a higher tier.
What if I stop answering?
Switch who calls you, any morning. A voice you have gotten used to is a voice you can change.
Can I cancel?
Any time, in your Apple Account settings. The trial cancels there too.

Prices are in US dollars; outside the US the App Store charges the local equivalent. The free trial is available once per Apple Account — if you have used an introductory offer for Fifi before, the annual plan starts billing immediately. Cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

Why there is no free version

An alarm has to work on the morning you need it, which means the voices have to be generated, the briefing has to be assembled and somebody has to keep both running. A free tier funded by advertising would put an ad in front of a person who has just woken up, and a free tier funded by nothing would eventually stop ringing.

The honest version is a price. If it is not worth that to you, the Clock app on your phone is genuinely good and worth understanding before you pay anyone — including us.

Before you subscribe

Fifi has not shipped yet. There is nothing to buy today; the prices above are what it will cost when it does, and the waitlist is how you hear about it. If you want to know what you would be paying for, the features are listed in full and every ringtone is playable in your browser.
